Rainbow Restaurant

I’m very hard to please when it comes to Chinese food, so when my husband suggested we find a new place in our new area I wasn’t excited. However, Rainbow exceeded my expectations and my hesitation. We went a week before Christmas and loved it. Fast carry out service, and the spring rolls, egg rolls and pan fried dumplings I had were amazing. My husband had the almond chicken and fried rice and loved it. We enjoyed that first visit so much we went back on Christmas Day and they were PACKED! Yet, my carry out order was ready in just 30 minutes, the owners were super nice and everyone in the restaurant was friendly and happy even though the wait for a table was an hour. I’m not sure about the other reviews, but we absolutely love this place. Try it for yourself.

We ordered take out for Christmas day. We went in and placed our order a couple of weeks in advance because we wanted to insure that our one Gluten-free order could be handled. They were able to advise us and were wonderful. Christmas day pick up and payment was fast and easy. The food was hot and fabulous. We love this place and look forward to our next meal from Rainbow!

I've been here twice and am not really impressed. Maybe it's just because my friends are obsessed with it, but I've definitely had better with more options. Takeout is probably different than dine-in, but they kind of skimped on my rice. Also, they could have more options. Why don't they have any vegetable spring rolls? I'm sure you'll enjoy this meal, but it's not worth 4 stars!

We were really excited to try this place as we have heard and read good things… however it was disappointing. Food not the best and if you dine in be prepared to be attacked by fruit flies. Rotten food or scraps also could be seen behind the swing doors underneath whatever equipment was back there. Other than the waitress being very nice we give this restaurant a 2.

Impeccable food consistently for over 5 years from my experience. Prices are fair, good quality, clean, seasoned meat. Authentic fried rice. Wish the egg rolls came with whole shrimp inside instead of minced with chicken. I give 3 stars because the counter person was beyond rude. I’m referring to the young, tall, handsome African American male with glasses. No greeting upon entry, when I spoke to him he blatantly and obviously ignored my greeting. I attempted 3 more times to say hello, which again he ignored and displayed quite obviously that he was aware of his rude antics. A young Chinese girl overheard and attempted to correct him, seeing as though he was obviously wrong. When I asked to speak to someone about him, he became confrontational, over talking me and making excuses for not speaking back. He even went so far as to say there’s nothing rude about the fact that he doesn’t speak to customers and that he didn’t say hello in return when I greeted him: the girl that overheard it all was who I spoke to, and although her mouth was apologizing and she acknowledged that he was wrong, at the same time she displayed that I was annoying her by asking to speak to her about him, she also made me feel rushed. Customer service is as important as the product. Rudeness is the norm now and I refuse to accept it. He’s also been rude before on the phone and in person. It’s a regular thing. Unacceptable!

This was our first time dining here, and it won't be our last! Incredible Chinese cuisine in Farmington. I had the Mongolian beef dinner combination, medium spice, white rice instead of chicken fried rice, hot and sour soup, and a veggie egg roll. Hot tea was a black tea, my favorite tea. I would describe the entree as "happy tongue" because if my tongue could smile from happiness, it would be. The beef was cut against the grain and battered in corn starch, giving it a silky texture, the way it should be prepared! The Mongolian "sauce" was delicious and served the perfect spice temperature when ordered medium. Often the spice is under what you're looking for so as not to burn a sensitive palate. The soup was excellent, some of the best that I have had in a long time! Lots of ingredients that make up a proper hot and sour. Even the wonton chips were excellent! My wife offered almond chicken, egg drop soup, and a veggie egg roll. All were amazing! Her egg drop soup tasted like eggs and not chicken stock! We're already looking forward to our next visit, I'm going to have General Tso's chicken!
